Rabbana duas from the Quran

The Quran records the prayers of prophets and believers so that we can pray with them. The Arabic below is copied word for word from the Quran; the English is Pickthall's translation.

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina 'adhaban-nar

Our Lord! Give unto us in the world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and guard us from the doom of Fire.

    Source: Quran 2:201 (tr. Pickthall)

Anas reported that this was the dua the Prophet ﷺ made most often (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim).

Rabbana zalamna anfusana wa in lam taghfir lana wa tarhamna lanakunanna minal-khasirin

Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If thou forgive us not and have not mercy on us, surely we are of the lost!

    Source: Quran 7:23 (tr. Pickthall)

Rabbana faghfir lana dhunubana wa kaffir 'anna sayyi'atina wa tawaffana ma'al-abrar

Our Lord! Therefor forgive us our sins, and remit from us our evil deeds, and make us die the death of the righteous.

    Source: Quran 3:193 (tr. Pickthall)

Anta mawlana fansurna 'alal-qawmil-kafirin.

Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget, or miss the mark! Our Lord! Lay not on us such a burden as thou didst lay on those before us! Our Lord! Impose not on us that which we have not the strength to bear! Pardon us, absolve us and have mercy on us, Thou, our Protector, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk.

    Source: Quran 2:286 (tr. Pickthall)

Rabbana innana amanna faghfir lana dhunubana wa qina 'adhaban-nar

Our Lord! Lo! we believe. So forgive us our sins and guard us from the punishment of Fire.

    Source: Quran 3:16 (tr. Pickthall)

Rabbighfir li wa hab li mulkan la yanbaghi li-ahadin min ba'di, innaka antal-wahhab

My Lord! Forgive me and bestow on me sovereignty such as shall not belong to any after me. Lo! Thou art the Bestower.

    Source: Quran 38:35 (tr. Pickthall)

This was the prayer of the Prophet Sulayman (Solomon). It opens with a request for forgiveness before asking for anything else.
